and respect for your relationship and bond. Primary duties will include: Follow hospital’s general policies and protocols. Prepare and fill medications for both outpatients and hospitalized patients where permitted by state law and in accordance to state law.
Perform computer entry of prescription information including but not limited to: patient search, prescriber search, drug selection , prescription interpretation & entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution. Assist with maintaining the shop department by keeping it clean and in order. Assist with drug inventory control, Follow appropriate hospital protocol for filling-controlled substances. Explain medications with the
owners to assure they understand the doctor’s instructions using excellent customer service skills. Check prescription refill line, keeping daily log of requests and filling prescriptions daily.
Manage the shop log and ensure that refill requests are handled promptly. Entering all services into the hospital information system (client invoice). Entering laboratory results along with requisitions. Ability to prepare samples for inhouse and external lab About You: 1 or more years of veterinary medicine experience You have excellent communication skills, teamwork capabilities and are courteous to clients. You can multitask and work independently, as well as communicate with doctors and technicians
to maintain workflow and excellent patient care. Have exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to perform basic drug calculations.
You are proficient in using Microsoft Word and Outlook and have basic Microsoft Excel skills.. This position is in a 24 -hour, 365 day per year hospital and will require two holiday shifts per year.
