Tests new equipment to ensure proper operations. Installs new service and equipment for subscribers by installing drop wires, outdoor radios, wireless routers, switches, bridges, and telepoles.
Wires new systems using appropriate tools. Customer installs, which require wire drops, outside/inside equipment installation, and testing. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs existing tower locations by using test equipment to locate trouble. Determines necessary repairs which may include base station replacement,
base station protectors, ground connections, running new wires. Climbs towers up to 60' at customer locations for installs. Serves as ground crew for other tower climbers.
Troubleshoots problems and maintains existing wireless equipment. Completes all installation and repair related forms and reports. May confer with customers to further determine problems and acceptable resolutions. Discusses technical service needs with the customer and makes appropriate recommendations. May install and maintain equipment for diversified telco services including broadband communications, video, etc. Repairs tower sites as needed on a 24/7 basis. Knowledge of microwave, RF and/or cellular technology and DC power systems.
