Purpose and Scope of Job: Setup and operation of 2 & 3-axis CNC machines (lathes; mills horizontal and vertical; broaches).
Set up and operation of manual and semi-automatic lathes, mills, grinders, tool grinders, drills, broaches, shears, etc. Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned): Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools in order to perform precision machining operations while holding close tolerance dimensions with frequent assistance.
Read & interpret blueprints both imperial and metric standards. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry) and part drawings / standards. Machine parts correctly with only set up
documentation and part drawing documentation. Follow Process Sheets, Process Maps, Standard Operating Procedures and Poka-Yoke systems implemented by Manufacturing Engineering and Shop management to generate predetermined production volumes, while ensuring best quality and lead times.
Use measuring gauges including micrometers, calipers, height gauge, depth gauge, bore gauges, Mahr gages, etc. to inspect manufactured parts, in order to ensure adherence to drawing tolerances. Ensure adherence to routed hours for production, depending on level of training provided. Provide feedback on equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and work holding solutions to reduce setup times and eliminate rework.
Work closely with Machine shop supervisors, quality assurance, and maintenance personnel to proactively prevent problems with machining cells and tooling/fixtures, and to identify ways to improve efficiency, cost, layout, and safety.
Ensure all manufacturing safety & regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times. Actively practice a culture of 5S (Sort, Set and Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) in the machine shop. Be a resource to other company projects. Take part in brainstorming sessions and kaizen events designed to improve efficiency, costs and lead time Minimum Qualifications: Requires at least 4 years of experience operating a mix of manual, semi-automatic, and CNC machine tools in a fast paced work environment.
At least 3 years of CNC machining experience. At least 2 years of experience in high volume low mix production. Experience in using common measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height/depth/bore gauges). Experience in reading & interpreting complex drawings & blueprints in both imperial and metric standards. Experience in calculating dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry) and part drawings / standards. Experience in measuring perpendicularity, parallelism, concentricity, and run out in micron or sub-micron level resolutions on manufactured components.

Basic understanding of Metallurgy (focus on Cast iron Grey cast & Ductile iron; Steel, Stainless Steel 304/316/416). Experience in diagnosing tool wear by visual inspection or by listening to the process, and in making necessary adjustments to control the process Ability to understand and use Sumitomos Discrepancy reporting process, and other internal process control mechanisms.

What You Will Do Lead a lumber mill maintenance team to safely work in an SIF-free, continuous manufacturing environment consistent with our MBM® Philosophy while meeting facility goals and vision. Supervise/coordinate maintenance efforts that drive improvement in all associated work processes affecting
EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs. Support the production processes to align and optimize the manufacturing enterprise in delivering value to the business.
Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, as well as problem-solving and resolution. Drive safety excellence and compliance through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved. Monitor the quality of craft work and provide direction to crew members to maximize efficiency. Assist with troubleshooting production issues. Provide safety training to crew
members. Data entry and completing/generating reports. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Must be willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations including wearing safety equipment.
2 years of supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing environment or a military environment. 2 years of prior maintenance scheduling/planning experience in a manufacturing environment Working knowledge and experience with computerized What Will Put You Ahead Ability to read structural blueprints and hydraulic schematics. Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing operations equipment for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.

The employee will generally work in utility capacity by transferring from one task to another where demands are required. The career field for “Construction Laborer” includes, but may not be limited to, the following positions: Laborer, General Laborer, and Paving Laborer. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using
the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
Assist construction/paving crew with various duties such as; shoveling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely backing/dumping trucks into paver. Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials with shovel. Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite. May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer. Digs, spreads, and levels
construction materials. Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies.
Assists in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices. Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. Other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred. Previous related experience in the construction field. Work Requirements Must be 18 years in age or older. Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
