What will I do as a Massage Therapist with Messiah Lifeways? Responsible for sterilization and sanitation in the Massage area according to State law. Maintains the room in neat, clean order. Communicate possible health care and safety needs to the coordinators of the appropriate levels of living. Responsible to return personal belongings (i. e. eyeglasses, hearing aids) to the resident being serviced. Follows emergency procedures and responds rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the
safety of the residents and team members. Follows proper procedures and promotes safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment.
Works cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families, and other team members Willingness to work under direction and supervision. This position will require travel to our other offices 2 days a week and will be in the Mechanicsburg office 3 days a week. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Consults with patients before massage to identify and evaluate areas requiring therapeutic treatment. Consults with patients to backss their expectations and ask questions related to pain or discomfort and to learn and/or update their medical histories as necessary and appropriate to the scope of treatment.
Performs requested or suggested massage techniques, which may include deep tissue massage, as well as other related techniques as necessary. Provides a relaxing environment for patients. Demonstrates and educates patients on methods to soothe
and strengthen targeted muscles and tissues at home; may provide reference materials such as printed diagrams and materials or links to websites and videos for further guidance and instruction.
Identifies opportunities for improvement of patient care services as it relates to Massage Therapy services. Coordinates services and related Massage Therapy duties to ensure efficient and exceptional services to the patients. Adhere to safety standards and confidential guidelines.
