Division: Grounds & Golf (GRG007) HB Golf Retail Sales Clerk Attendant
Primary Responsibilities: Greet and service customers; sell and wrap merchandise, prepare sales slips. Collect payment for golf and merchandise. Make change or process credit card or room charge; uses point of sales system and is responsible for a cash bank.
Follow cash handling procedures. Make suggestions in selling and explain the use of merchandise in the shop. Keep shop clean and orderly. Restock merchandise and prepare special items for sales. Answer and handle phone calls; book and confirm tee times. Assist in receiving merchandise and maintain accurate inventory of all items. Open and close shop and perform routine clerical work. Perform all other routine duties and related work
as required. Essential Duties: Greet and welcome customers upon entering the shop adhering to service standards.
Offer assistance to guests with purchases and tee times. Book tee times, lessons and clinics. Open shop and close and secure shop at the end of the day. Process merchandise sold and golf fees using the resort's POS system, following policy and procedures. Wrap merchandise sold and also process for mailing if necessary. Responsible for cash bank, make change and process credit card and room charges; complete required reports. Stock merchandise on shop shelves; attractively display merchandise. Keep shop clean and orderly. Answer the telephone; answer questions regarding the golf course, rates and facilities.
Does inventory of shop merchandise. Perform other related duties as assigned or required. Other Duties: Upsell merchandise and promote other resort facilities including restaurants. Perform clerical duties as needed. Assist other position in the department. Working Conditions: Works indoors in the golf shop for majority of the shift. May retrieve items from stockroom. Work Hours: Ability to shift and days designated by manager. Able to work more than 40 hours per week, when needed. Equipment Use: Proficient in the use of the shop computer and POS system.
Ability to use the telephone Ability to use credit card machine, gift card machine, golf score posting machine, scissors, various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers and facsimile machines. Mental and Physical Demands: Ability to prioritize and organize workload for the day. Able to stand and walk during most of shift. Bend, reach, stoop, climb ladder to stock, display or retrieve merchandise. Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 lbs. Communication Demands: Must have the ability to communicate verbally to guests and customers.
Ability to communicate clearly over the phone. Minimum Qualification Requirements: Must be pleasant, smiling and friendly. Able to multi-task. Must be able to perform general cashiering duties. Must be able to read labels and prices on merchandise; names for tee times. Knowledgeable on the game of golf and resort courses, preferred. Yellow Card as needed for specific outlets.
