As a Retail Manager at Cherry Carpet and Flooring, you will play a crucial role in driving our business forward and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The Retail Manager is responsible for management of the carpet/flooring showroom. Outlet and retail/residential sales division of a locally owned and operated flooring company. The aim of
the retail manager is to maximize profit while minimizing cost, ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company's standards. The Retail Manager will also be required to deal with human resources, marketing ideas, logistics, information technology, customer service and finance.
Qualifications and Requirements: Proven experience as a Retail Manager, preferably in flooring or home improvement industry. Strong Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team. Exceptional customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated problem- solving and decision- making abilities. Proficiency
in computer skills, including MS Office and point-of-sale systems. A keen eye for visual merchandising, Marketing, and showroom presentation.
Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours as needed. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. The responsibilities of a Retail Manager include but are not limited to the following: Meeting company targets and goals. Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency. Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control. Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximize profits. Analyzing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning. Using information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning.
Dealing with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development. Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met. Addressing health and safety, legal and security issues. Promptly responding to customer complaints and comments Organizing special promotions, displays and events. Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives, and other pertinent issues. Touring the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues.
Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing. Initiating changes to improve the business, (e. g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market).
