Description Summary Counsel, Commercial Operations - North America. Will focus on providing commercial contract support in North America for Lamb Weston's supply chain, logistics, procurement, agriculture, IT, and HR organizations, and will provide legal support associated with real estate matters.
Job Description Job Summary This position is responsible for supporting the commercial contracting and real estate activity for the North American enterprise. Position Responsibilities Provide day-to-day commercial contracting support for Lamb Weston's North American supply chain, logistics, procurement, agriculture business, IT, and HR organizations. Provide legal support associated with
Lamb Weston's North American real estate holdings, including purchases, sales, easements, and leases.
Advise business partners and other members of the legal department on the impact of new and existing laws and regulations on business relationships. Develop, prepare, and deploy employee training and educational materials on contracting matters and other topics. Advise the business and other members of the legal organization on contract interpretation, including in connection with claims and disputes arising out of the company's business relationships, and provide overflow litigation and pre-litigation support for the same. Develop improved processes for efficiently handling contractual matters within the company, utilizing available technology while helping to creatively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and legal department members. Commit to promoting the development of one's own legal and business skills, and maintaining an inclusive working environment. Basic & Preferred Qualifications Position Qualifications Licensed attorney with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a law firm or corporate law department, handling a wide variety of commercial contracting and real estate matters.
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. Knowledge and ability to support real estate transactions and holdings, including purchases, sales, easements, and leases. Experience in the following substantive areas of law is a plus: food law (or similarly regulated spaces); international/export law; real estate; agriculture; manufacturing; and, litigation. Excellent negotiation skills and strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business clients in a collaborative environment to understand and achieve stated business objectives.

Must communicate timely, professionally, and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization (business partners, senior leaders, members of the legal department and opposing counsel) to contribute to business decisions with convincing advice. Specifically, the ability to think in business scenarios, propose pragmatic and creative alternative solutions and articulate associated risks in an actionable way.
