preventative maintenance and safety inspections on cooperative vehicles and special equipment including di-electric testing and DOT inspections. Performs all mechanical repair work for normal maintenance and mechanical defects on cooperative vehicles, heavy and special equipment as required.
Transfers attachments from vehicles scheduled for release from the fleet to newly purchased vehicles. Fabricating, welding and building special equipment for the cooperative as directed. Performs light maintenance and repair work on Cooperative fleet vehicles in the field as directed. Maintains records of all repairs and service work for the Cooperative's fleet as prescribed by applicable practices
and procedures. Qualifications: Associates degree or two-year technical degree in automotive/diesel mechanics or equivalent field required. Closely related and progressive job experience may substitute for a portion of the educational requirements.
Basic work knowledge of utility and heavy equipment required. Additional work experience in automotive/diesel/hydraulic mechanics preferred. Inspect and Measure product for weights, thickness, and visual defects and report results to shooter as they happen. Unload and load incoming and outgoing freight as trained and required. If time does not permit, inform Shooter that trucks are here.
