of Iowa City. We are hiring for an experienced and self-motivated Manure Shop Equipment Technician. Position: The Manure Shop Equipment Technician position is designated for repair, installation and maintenance of waste handling machinery and equipment.

Observes and examines machinery parts in operation to detect malfunctioning or defective units. Replace
components. Lubricates, washes, paints and cleans vehicle attachments. May assist coworkers in more complex maintenance tasks such as overhaul of machinery as well as equipment repair.
Willing to work in other departments when required. Wears safety equipment as needed. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High school diploma is preferred but not required. Proficient in computer applications is a plus. Class A CDL is a plus. Ability to complete basic math. Safety oriented is required. Working Conditions: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Ability to frequently and repeatedly walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull. Must wear

Responsibilities: Responsible for installing new equipment and repairing existing equipment on various grain systems. (i. e. bin fans & heaters, stirators,
standalone (portable/tower) and in-bin drying systems, feed flex lines, heaters, motors and augers). Drive to the jobsite, backss customer's service needs, complete the work to the customer's satisfaction, and complete service documentation.
Ensure that all sales tickets are completed, signed, and submitted accurately to ensure all tickets are processed in a timely manner. Communicate with customers, concerning repairs and maintenance on their equipment. Acquire knowledge of all products and pricing to be capable of pricing, marketing, and selling replacement products and repair parts. Maintain inventory on service truck and have knowledge and understanding of all parts, part numbers
and part descriptions. Further develop mechanical skills, learn new techniques, and remain current with product requirements for installing material to meet safety specifications while maintaining quality workmanship with minimal warranty.
Maintain safe working environment and upon completion of day's work ensure jobsite is clean and clear of debris. Ability to work well independently and with a team. Wear proper PPE as needed to perform the jobs safely. All other duties assigned. Requirements: High school diploma is preferred but not required. 3+ years of experience in grain bin equipment. Supervisory experience required. Class A CDL is preferred or ability to obtain one.
Electrical knowledge - single and 3 phase is desired. Fabrication/Welding experience of heaters, conveyors, fans is desired. Ability to be certified to operate a forklift. Basic computer skills. Ability to do basic math and visualize grain bin design. Self-starter and problem solver. Participate as an active member of the team. Occasional overtime and weekend hours. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Performs all tasks in a safe manner and observes and obeys all safety rules, practices, and procedures. Working Conditions: Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
Ability to frequently and repeatedly walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, and lift 80 lbs. from floor to waist level. Must wear proper personal protective equipment, safety shoes and protective eyewear, when required. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds daily. In addition, this position performs maintenance and makes repairs and/or adjustments to keep fertilizer application equipment in operating order. Our applicators typically work 7:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday. We are open on Saturdays from 8:00AM to 12:00PM. O vertime may be required seasonally with overtime paid at 1.5X the regular hourly rate. Responsibilities: Prepares proper truck reports and records, including
truck maintenance records as required Maintain organized application/spray records Assists with inventory control through adhering to established procedure and reports Understand the capabilities and limitations of equipment (floaters, Ro Gators, tool bars, etc.
