EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have good hand and power tool knowledge and ability to read diagrams and/or assembly instructions Previous experience as an assembler strongly preferred POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Basic knowledge of carpentry and wood working Basic understanding of quality control
principals Strong attention to detail Ability to assemble furniture with and without printed directions Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools Ability to lift heavy objects with minimum assistance Ability to read and follow instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc.
Ability and desire to grow in the position and accept more responsibility. Ability to take initiative in providing new ideas to improve process efficiencies. Ability to maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and prepared for all shifts ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND BEHAVIORS include, but are not limited to, the following: Read and comprehend instructions and follow
established procedures Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process Take accurate measurements to ensure proper fit of components Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications Align material and put together parts to build various types of commercial furniture Check output to ensure highest quality Keep records of production quantities and time Report on issues, malfunction or defective parts Communicate the current product, process or material constraints or issues to the team leader Willing to move to other positions where needed WORKING CONDITIONS The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities: Able to lift 50 pounds Regularly required to stand, walk, squat, or bend and use hands and arms to push, pull, reach or grasp 8-10 hours per day Able to raise or lower up to 50 lb.
