the process control assets in this large manufacturing facility. 95% of the facility is run using Emerson Delta V DCS. This role will be to manage that equipment, along with other control systems, and to manage the personnel of the department. Processes covered by this control equipment include, but are not limited to: boilers, turbines, paper machines, chemical recovery plant, wood processing, and paper wrapping and shipping.

Mill location along the SC Coast is an added personal benefit. Manage process controls group, responsible for new process control design updates and controlling for hardware and software used in the production process Work with mill electrical and instrumentation

team to drive proactive system maintenance and improve the troubleshooting skills of the team Execute on multiple priorities while maintaining accurate records and building positive working relationships with all team members Set and demand adherence to the highest safety standards and principles Ensure compliance with all federal/state/local regulations and applicable codes Develop priorities and alternative solutions in partnership with management Control costs by reviewing designs, specifications, plans, and expenditures Collect and analyze data to recommend actions Contribute to team success by identifying and taking on other duties, including mentoring, supervising, clerical tasks and cross-department

communication Assure all controls systems are programmed and maintained to safely and efficiently operate the mill.

Interface with all levels of operations and maintenance to understand the needs of the mill. Understand the fail safe conditions for the mill’s equipment Understand the operation of the mill Be able to utilize and troubleshoot the software and hardware associated with the process control systems Be knowledgeable of process control field devices to assure safe and proper installation of controls and to troubleshoot root causes. Assure the systems are properly documented and that associated documents such as loop sheets and motor schematics are properly competed before those devices are programed into the DCS.

Understand good programming basics, including standardization, ease of understanding, and documentation utilizing comments. Assure all controls systems are programmed and maintained to safely and efficiently operate the mill. Oversee the operation and maintenance of the paper machine gauging systems, web imaging systems, and cross machine control devices. Utilize the mill’s informations systems, OSI PI and Parcview, to assist the production areas troubleshoot issues. Plan and execute capital expenditures to sustain the process control systems Interface with corporate IT resources and assure alignment of priorities between the mill and IT Assure the proper maintenance of the mill’s label printers.

Maintain the (PCN, 192, OT) process control network infrastructure Protect the mills process control resources from harm Fire Network Security Water Proper Grounding Power Feeds Routine Duties: Attend morning production meeting(s) Orgainze and prioritize the groups tasks with emphasis on safety Support resolution of any mill issues Interface with contract support on gauging systems The Skills You Will Bring: A safety-first attitude, training and commitment Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field At least one year experience in pulp and paper industry preferred Minimum of 10 years of experience with process controls manufacturing environment Self-directed and driven, requiring minimal supervision; skilled at: learning-on-the-fly, action oriented, good time management, interpersonal savvy Advanced knowledge of and high proficiency in the following areas: Pulp & Paper manufacturing processes Emerson Delta V Systems Advanced leadership skills: Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization, including hourly operations, and maintenance, mill management, contractors, and corporate subject matter experts Team development, influencing, command skills, managerial courage, planning and organizing, managing upward, results oriented, conflict resolution, etc.
