GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE: Committed to the healing of body, mind, and spirit, the social worker conducts psychosocial backssments, provides education and therapeutic interventions for patients, and families as appropriate to achieve an optimal level of care.
Saint Alphonsus Behavioral Health is an inpatient psychiatric acute care unit, located in Boise, that serves children (age 12 and under) and adults (18 and up). Inpatient Counselor/ Social Workers collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team (including psychiatrists and nurses) to assist patients throughout the crisis stabilization process and help them identify resources and supports as they prepare to return to the community. Counselor/Social
Workers in this role have the opportunity to work with patients who come to the hospital with a wide range of mental health needs, presenting issues, and diagnoses.
The position is 20 hrs a week (2 10-hr shifts). Hours are approximately 7:30am-6pm. Staff rotate to cover weekends and holidays. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Licensed as one of the following in the state where practicing: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)Two years of post-license experience in related mental health setting preferred Basic Life
Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric, as applicable)Revenue Management: Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients Assess patient's treatment needs and provides appropriate interventions, including but not limited to the following: group and family therapy, risk backssment, chemical dependency groups, case management with community providers, and facilitating and documenting a viable discharge plan.
Complete psychosocial backssment and consult with physicians and hospital staff regarding patient and family psychological issues through formal and/or informal multidisciplinary conferences and treatment planning.
