equipment. Installs accessories as needed on City equipment. Checks and/or replaces batteries, fluids, and lubes on equipment and vehicles. Performs safety inspections on City vehicles. Completes job orders according to work performed. Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe working environment.
Assists mechanics with maintenance and repair projects. Utilizes proper safety precautions in all work performed; recognizes, avoids, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries. Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Regular and timely attendance is required. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent; and one
year of experience in vehicle maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Licenses or Certifications: Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Must obtain Texas State Vehicle Safety Inspector certification within 6 months of employment Required Knowledge of: City policies and procedures. Methods, tools and equipment used in repair and maintenance of vehicles. Safety practices in a workshop environment. Required Skill in: Safe and effective repair and maintenance of vehicles according to City
standards. Closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
Physical Demands / Work Environment: Work is performed in repair and maintenance facilities; moderate physical demands; strength sufficient to lift and move items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. Job postings may be withdrawn at any time at direction of the City Manager.
