Essential Functions: Perform EMS response functions. Shifts range from 6-16 hours depending on the event. Practice and maintain a professional appearance and work ethic. Required Certifications: Current State of Iowa EMT Basic OR Paramedic Certificate Current BLS CPR card (ASHI, American Red Cross and American Heart accepted) Current ACLS card (Paramedics) (ASHI, American Red Cross and
American Heart accepted) PALS or PEPP cert preferred, but not required (Paramedics) When you apply please indicate your certifications. Qualifications/Requirements: High School Diploma/GED Valid Iowa Driver's License Must successfully pass a driving record check.
Minimum age 21 years old. Preference will be given to candidates that have a verifiable affiliation with a Iowa Public Safety or Fire/EMS Agency. Strong communication skills including written reports. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions. Must be familiar with National Incident Management System and chain of command. OF THE JOB: Proactively anticipate department needs. Perform facilities daily tasks, deep cleans facilities / equipment, assist with special projects, and assist maintenance department as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENCITIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Responsible for working with Facilities Maintenance Manager to order cleaning and restroom products for the facility.
Serve as contacts in the maintenance department for coordinating facility rentals, including attending meetings with Facility Maintenance Manager and Director of Operations to discuss upcoming rentals. Coordinate any last minute or special needs with the maintenance department.2. Responsible for keeping Iowa Speedway facility in pristine
condition. Recognize potential hazards around the facility, including all buildings, grandstands, and grounds. Report potential hazards to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.3.
Responsible for maintaining relationships and working with various suppliers as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Works directly with contracted cleaning company during national and large special events. Follows proper accounting procedures for purchasing items as needed for the facility. Note: Duties described above to not constitute entirety of responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned and expected as a normal course of business. EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree
(GED). EXPERIENCE: One year experience preferred. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITES: Ability to manage multiple priorities, develop and nurture relationships with external and internal contacts.
Candidate must possess a valid driver's license. TYPICAL EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Customers, visitors, guests. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED: The incumbent will have access to supervision as needed to resolve issues or problems. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION GIVEN TO OTHERS: The incumbent will have no direct reports but will be relied on to coordinate the needs of contractors on large event weeks / weekends.
