and Tare Sheets legibly and accurately. Oversee the unloading of all raw product, including ensuring all loads are properly and promptly tared. Oversee the rotation of receiving bays to always ensure the best use of raw product. Keep raw product separated per management direction; sort and maintain a separation of incoming raw potatoes by sugar levels, separate foreign materials, rocks, etc.
Ensure the sugars are tested for each supplier and recorded accordingly. Ensure samples are taken to the Lab for testing of definite sugar levels. On a daily basis check the accuracy of all sugar testing by comparison of Fry test and reducing sugar levels. Check all solids for every supplier a minimum
of once a day. Assist maintenance personnel in the Raw Receiving area by writing work orders for needed repairs. Keep waste pit clean, placing waste in the proper areas in a neat and orderly manner.
Clean fry shack and receiving areas. Immediately report problems to the Raw Receiving Manager. Communicate daily on repairs needed or repairs made. Inform proper management personnel of problem loads when possible. Reject loads if the Company standards or requirements are not met. Use caution around moving parts and equipment. Comply with all safety regulations; follow all Company and safety policies. Know and follow all Company and regulated good manufacturing practices. Completes all other
responsibilities as necessary and assigned. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read and write legibly and in English.
Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions. Able to perform standard dirt, rot, green tare, and specific gravity testing on incoming raw potatoes. Must be able to closely follow operational instructions and work with minimal supervison. Ability to communicate effectively. Good attention to detail. Education: Education must be of such level as to allow for the accurate reading, writing, calculation and communication of the required materials and instructions to complete the job responsibilities of the Raw Receiving Laborer position.
Physical Requirements: Will be required to stand, bend, or move repetitively for up to 12 hours. Must be able to lift on a regular basis up to 100 pounds without assistance. Able to tolerate dust or chemicals. Must not be affected by moving equipment and machinery. Able to climb vertical ladders. Able to use a shovel as needed. Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, climbing, crawling, and crouching as required. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Supervisor Duties: The Raw Receiving Laborer has no supervisory authority. Will report to the Raw Receiving Manager.
Working Conditions: Normal plant / manufacturing environment. Hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Raw Receiving Laborer must be available all days and all hours. Position is very physical / hands on. Will be exposed to high levels of noise, low-lit areas, extreme heat or cold, steam, dust, and wet, humid, and slick conditions, and all other environmental factors normally attributed to a manufacturing environment.
