Job Summary Candidate will be responsible for the upkeep of the roof and grounds areas of the facility during all seasons and weather conditions. They will perform duties based on a pre-determined schedule or as needed by the supervisor. The candidate will also be responsible for the care of grounds equipment and reporting issues to the supervisor. Essential job duties Mowing, cleaning and watering lawn areas of the plant. Inspecting,
replacing filters, and sanitizing of rooftop air handling/HVAC units in accordance with schedules and procedures. General removal of snow and ice using a vehicle mounted plow, snow blower and shovels.
General cleaning of debris and product buildup from the outside perimeter and rooftop areas of the plant. Perform basic upkeep and maintenance of grounds equipment including lawn mower and associated attachments; pickup truck and plow; sprinkler systems. Reporting all major issues or obstacles to the supervisor in a timely manner. Shift work as needed. Back up boiler operator Fill in for Maintenance. Education/Experience A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. Applicants shall
provide an official transcript(s) for high school and post high school education and training.
GED records may be submitted if applicable. Valid Driver's License, and a clean driving record Skills Proficient skills as an industrial mechanic. The Supervisor sets the expectations for work quality standards and holds the craftsmen accountable for job performance. The Supervisor is responsible to develop everyone's skillset within the team. Responsible to execute the schedule efficiently delivering the maintenance work within budgetary constraints.
At times the supervisor may be required to direct contract maintenance labor embedded with the hourly maintenance team or direct contractors executing maintenance work.
The Supervisor must organize the work coordinating with production teams and be knowledgeable of work being performed by visiting job sites. The Supervisor needs to check and adjust the work planned for the day and compensate when emergency work is required. At the end of each shift the Supervisor will digitally update the work orders. The Supervisor keeps management fully informed of the workforce performance and the issues the workforce is confronting. Daily management feedback includes formal and informal meetings with
production and maintenance management. Weekly feedback will include current progress on KPI's and plans for the coming week and month.
The supervisor is responsible to keep the crew informed of progress on resolving issues that affect them. Participate in the planning and scheduling efforts to develop a weekly schedule. The Supervisor works with the PS to understand scope of work and impact to production. The Supervisor must understand the technical, engineering, and quality requirements of the production processes and the equipment used in those processes. He / she must be sufficiently capable, so crew members have confidence in the Supervisor's judgment on the day-to-day technical matters.
The Supervisor emphasizes the use of predictive and preventative maintenance technologies to understand the status of key plant equipment and proactively plans repairs that result in minimizing costs and improving equipment life. Expected to sustain the 6S initiatives within the maintenance shops Run small to mid-sized facility and plant equipment related capital projects as needed. The Supervisor champions business process improvement and is always looking for simpler, smarter, and more effective ways to do the work undertaken by the maintenance crew. He / she helps develop plans to reduce downtime working closely with process leaders, engineering, and management to identify root causes and determining what actions need taken to resolve issues.
Perform RCA's ensuring follow up and action items are completed in a timely manner. Provide input on MRO min / max levels for new projects and review existing spare parts. 11.
