Job Overview Manage and oversee maintenance activities across single or multiple Macy's Supply Chain network distribution centers. Lead and mentor facility maintenance teams. Essential Functions Lead and develop a team of
executive and front-line colleagues in maintaining all facility, site and material handling equipment in a fast-paced, large-scale distribution environment. Provide oversight and function as facility subject matter expert for: mechanical systems, fire protection, electrical, plumbing, automation equipment, material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and controls systems.
Execute activities related to maintenance and housekeeping budgetary planning. Take ownership of departmental budget and deliver results through efficient financial controls. Partner with facility operational teams in the planning and execution of supply chain strategy. Recommend plans and strategies to more effectively
run operations through utilization of material handling systems and equipment.
Promote and maintain functional procedures and methodologies which drive building and equipment reliability, safety and efficiency. Provide recommendations to improve maintenance practices across the network to maintain continuity and standardization. Champion new technology rollouts within the facility and ensure maintenance team ownership and readiness. Drive CMMS methodology to support preventative and predictive practices. Maintain strict documentation across all maintenance activities and asset histories. Support the network Root Cause Analysis procedure for equipment failures.
Communicate finding to benefit DC's across the network. Develop cost effective maintenance, energy consumption, and operational improvement opportunities for the facility and equipment. Function as the Macy's representative for interactions with regulatory agencies, consultants, and local authorities at a facility level. Effectively evaluate material readiness of assets and appropriately reflect them in a capital and equipment obsolescence replacement schedule. Prepare scope documents and solicit proposals for repair and construction services from third party service providers. Develop innovative, cost-effective ideas for improvement to existing material handling systems and creating optimal product flow.
Serve as an adviser to the corporate engineering team for MHE mechanical controls regarding design, installation and long-term maintenance plans during large-scale capital projects. Work closely with vendors during installation of material handling equipment to ensure the adherence to design specifications and Macy's / OSHA safety requirements. Support and lead facility in corporate initiatives around Energy, Recycling and Sustainability. Other responsibilities deemed essential by leadership.
