Essential Duties and Responsibilities Thorough mechanical knowledge of crusher and related equipment.
Analyzes malfunctions and repairs and rebuilds conveyors and crushing equipment. Examines parts for damage or excessive wear. Welds broken parts and structural members and other items as necessary using stick welding processes. Knowledge of acetylene-oxygen cutting. The supervisor is responsible to keep the crew informed of progress on resolving issues that affect them. Participate in the planning and scheduling efforts to develop a weekly schedule. The Supervisor works with the PS to understand scope of work and impact to production. The Supervisor must understand the technical, engineering, and quality requirements of the production processes and the equipment used in those processes. He / she must be sufficiently capable, so crew members have confidence in the Supervisor's judgment on the day-to-day technical matters.
The Supervisor emphasizes the use of predictive and preventative maintenance technologies to understand the status of key plant equipment and proactively plans repairs that result in minimizing costs and improving equipment life. Expected to sustain the 6S initiatives within the maintenance shops Run small to mid-sized facility and plant equipment related capital projects as needed. The Supervisor champions business process improvement and is always looking for simpler, smarter, and more effective ways to do the work undertaken by the maintenance crew. He / she helps develop plans to reduce downtime working closely with process leaders, engineering, and management to identify root causes and determining what actions need taken to resolve issues.
