Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.1. Performs minor repairs to building fixtures2. Performs minor plumbing repairs in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes.3.

Assists in maintaining boiler4. Maintains & repairs minor electrical malfunctions and installs new equipment5. Acts as a carpenter in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings6. Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools carefully and as instructed7. Completes work orders for painting and building repairs, indicating materials used and time

involved8. Assists in maintaining and operates water pumping, storage, and distribution systems9. Assists in maintaining wastewater pumping and collection systems, and water and sewer maintenance equipment10.

Does a walk through of campus buildings and inspects for damage and/or safety hazards11. Replaces bulbs and performs touch up painting12. Be on call, work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.13. Work overtime as needed.14. Does snow removal as needed MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School graduation or GED, plus one (1) year of providing maintenance services. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:  Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities.  Ability to work as

part of a team.  Flexible and eager to work.  Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

 Ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations followingsupervisor instructions.  General knowledge of various types of equipment used in building trades.  Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions.  Ability to do heavy lifting.  Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.  Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and construction equipment.  Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions.  Must have valid state motor vehicle drivers license WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:  Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

 Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking formore than four (4) hours per day.  Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Compensation is commensurate with experience; and UWC-USA offers a competitive benefits package. UWC-USA is an international boarding school.

It enrolls up to 240 students in grades 11 and 12. All students follow the IB Diploma Program. Roughly twenty percent of the students come from the U.
