Mining Engineer: As a member of the mining services team, this position will be responsible for monitoring aggregate mining, and planning, including surveying, phasing, project design for levees and haul roads, developing extraction methods, and assisting in labor/equipment planning.
This position will be based in Missouri. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions): Working with management in facilitating surveys, plans and development around our aggregate production operations to maintain the mine plans for aggregate sites. Collaborates and conducts with others
geographical exploration by reviewing maps and drilling logs to determine location, size, accessibility, and estimated volumes of deposits. Works with aggregate production to develop methods to extract material, evaluating factors such as safety, operational costs, deposit characteristics and overburden depth.
Assists in laying out and directing mine construction operations, such as location and development of ramps and positioning of mining area, access roads etc. Assists in drill and blast surveying and report development while working directly with drill and blast vendors to ensure they are operating efficiently. Assists in analyzing throughput costs, analyzing plant flow, and determining
cycle me opportunities in the load/haul fleet. Assists in analyzing and determining labor requirements, equipment needs, and operational costs for annual budget preparation and reporting.
Assists in determining long-range planning designs and data to determine proof of financial justification. Will work with the team to ensure company compliance with mandated safety and environmental policies on all mining/material production practices. Will work with company management and State and Federal agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Ability to detect safety hazards and respond accordingly. Adhere to any and all state and federal regulations, if applicable, as set forth by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), or any other regulatory agency.
Will have oversight in directing others within the mining operation Other duties/responsibilities as directed by management. Additional Responsibilities : Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site dressed appropriately, prepared, and ready to begin work at the designated start me. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health &Safety Manual. Strict adherence to APAC policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other dues as required. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience Bachelors and/or Associate Degree in Mine Engineering; or three to five years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
General Requirements Must possess a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to and from the job site. Knowledge/Skill Requirements Ability to complete necessary mathematical equations and have knowledge of basic algebra, plain geometry, and trigonometry. Must demonstrate the ability to use a computer to communicate effectively. This includes but is not limited to the use of Outlook, MS Office programs, Auto CAD Civil 3-D, Carlson Mining software, construction software and web-based programs.

SUPERVISES: GIS Technician and AMI/Automation Specialist DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Forecasts, schedules, and tracks required substation equipment and relay testing per the CEC work plan. Directs the daily work of the Lineman Technician group completing these efforts, providing expertise and material procurement assistance.
Reviews periodic inspection reports of CEC assets and makes necessary adjustments. Ownership of NERC compliance training, testing, and reporting as needed. Forecasts, schedules, and tracks required NERC testing within the CEC system. Serves as a member on the CEC - WVPA NERC Compliance committee, attending necessary training and becomes a subject matter expert for
CEC on NERC issues, with the support from the VP of Engineering. Creates and reviews system switching orders and supports field switching as needed. Supervises the recloser and regulator maintenance programs.
Ownership of the mobile substations, ensuring they are well maintained and ready for service. Assists in the mobilization of the units, coordinating needed resources with operations and/or engineering departments. Manage special projects, including contractors, as needed. Prepares required operating reports including: work plans for the bulk electric system and non-bulk electric system, project summary overview, and scoping documents for RFQ's. Verifies completed construction and
maintenance for workmanship, cost, and conformity to required specifications.

Perform 24/7 " on-call" duty assignments as a condition of employment when scheduled and/or to assist other on-call personnel. May fill in for " on-call" duty for District Superintendent as needed.
