Job Purpose Asset Strategy is a new team established to manage National Grid's electric transmission line, distribution line and substation assets across New England. Asset Strategy Engineers develop asset-related strategies which enable the creation of robust, risk-based short-, medium- and long-term asset management plans to optimize electric transmission and

distribution network performance. Key Accountabilities Leverage existing data, asset health and asset criticality information to create actionable asset strategies for key asset families.

These asset strategies should quantify existing and desired risk to the business and recommend capital investments needed to maintain or mitigate risk as needed. Define data enhancements to improve health modeling and enable whole-life costing to ultimately increase the effectiveness of our strategies to derive maximum value from our assets. Support the development of company strategic business plans and future regulatory rate filings as needed. Develop asset policies to document and guide the application

of asset strategies and inform asset management-based decisions.

Create and maintain National Grid's Strategic Asset Management Plan defining how our asset management objectives enable the realization of the company's corporate objectives. Support the delivery of improvement initiatives identified in the most recent Asset Management Maturity backssment to align the New England electric business with the ISO55000 Asset Management Standard. Monitor and maintain the Engineering Risk Register aligned with corporate risk appetite. Stay abreast of asset and risk management best-practices across industry and with peer utilities. Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required Ability to foster teamwork and work collaboratively yet able to be decisive to drive work forward, prioritizing incremental progress over perfection.

High level of personal initiative and ability to interact internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant technical major required Extensive knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems and assets (poles, conductor, cables, power transformers, circuit breakers, or protection/control systems) with the ability and desire to learn asset management frameworks, risk management concepts, and whole-life-costing; or.

Extensive knowledge of asset management frameworks, risk management concepts, and whole-life-costing with the ability to learn electric transmission and distribution systems and assets (poles, conductor, cables, power transformers, circuit breakers, or protection/control systems). Ability to " create the future" to deliver new asset management capabilities and efficiencies in response to the ever-evolving utility landscape. Ability to understand and accurately define problems, analyze information, identify and evaluate solution options and make sound decisions and recommendations.

Ability to deal with complexity, uncertainty and incomplete or conflicting information. Demonstrated experience of people management, change management and financial management. Direct experience with PAS55 or ISO5500 is a plus. Understanding of the regulatory compact, regulatory processes, New England electric transmission public planning process is a plus.
