Compensation Data $116,621 to $129,579 Annually Variable Bonus Potential 401K Savings Plan with Company Match Full Benefit Enrollment Options Summary Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America has an opportunity for an experienced Application Engineer, focused on Automotive Perception, to join our team working at the Northville, Michigan facility (Detroit area).

The Engineer will integrate existing & legacy solutions, develop, and implement advanced perception algorithms for mobility and ADAS application. Defining use cases using multiple sensors for

testing and validation of the perception algorithms. Work on defining daily tasks, implementation schedule, and technical enhancements for projects in the advanced engineering team.

Responsibilities Primary functions for this role will include but are not limited to the following Design and integrate advanced Li DAR sensor fusion algorithms with data between Li DAR and other sensors. Test and evaluate Li DAR perception algorithms for application such as object detection, tracking, classification, and more. Plan and execute software and algorithm changes. Maintain high-quality code in C/C++ Develop ROS2 software for real-time data processing. Implement communication protocols for efficient

data exchange between system components. Review quality related issues in perception software.

Create and maintain clear documentation of all code development throughout the project lifecycle. Closely coordinate with cross functional teams to evaluate design, implement, and integrate project components. Strong expertise in Li DAR development Solid understanding of sensor fusion algorithms and techniques.

Knowledge of fundamental perception concepts (calibration, 3D world coordinate systems transformations, etc. ) Experience in hardware and software synchronization methods between sensors. Extensive experience in ROS2 and real-time data processing. Knowledge of communication protocols (e. g. DDS, MQTT, UDP, TCP, etc. ) Demonstrated expertise in embedded and real-time system design and development for perception applications. Proficiency in C/C++ and Python, and experience with development in Linux Strong understanding of OOP. Familiarity with development tools, such as Git. MSEE, MSCS or equivalent training in Product Development.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in ADAS controls and signal processing experience, including functionality of sensors such as Sonar, Li DAR, Camera, and Radar. Proficient in the use of Matlab Simulink, CAN tools (Ca No E, Vehicle Spy etc. ) Minimum 4 years of experience in rapid prototyping systems. Fundamental knowledge of vehicle dynamics and robotics, and path of planning and control algorithms. Additional Beneficial Experience: Experience with Machine Learning applications using Li DAR and camera. Experience creating a wireframe in Sketch, Figma, or XD.

Experience in cloud and web development. Experience creating clickable prototype with In Vision or Zeplin. Understanding of Agile Scrum methodology is a plus.
