Your Responsibilities As a Factory Automation Engineer for John Deere Des Moines Works located in Ankeny, IA, you will: Plan, coordinate, and perform intermediate professional controls engineering (e.

g. Troubleshooting and support of Electrical Machine Controls; Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC); Industrial Robotics; Electrical and Product Test Systems, PC programming) assignments of specific engineering tasks. Operate in a team environment. Provide Tier 2 Shop Floor Support for urgent production issues, including root cause analysis, and resolution. Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and take action to address them. Contribute to the analysis of

information, the specification of the methods, process steps, and the plant, machinery & equipment required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems.

Provide technical advice for the integration and support of automated manufacturing equipment. Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice. Help upscale the maintenance organization through providing technical training and coaching. Visa Sponsorship is NOT available for this position. What Skills You Need Strong experience in RS Logix 5000, Factory Talk, SQL, OPC UA solutions like Kepware & Industrial automation networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Devicenet, etc.

) Experience working with Ignition, Python, SQL Strong Experience of MES systems, Electronics systems, & Shop floor system integration Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance, and facilities Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process Strong experience in diagnostics of electrical systems and components, hardware integration, installation, and commissioning Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, assembly, paint, etc. ) Strong experience in hardware integration, installation on and commissioning Working experience in deploying and maintaining software solutions on shop floor Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills What Makes You Stand Out Experience working with external suppliers to procure new technologies that meet product/systems specifications Technical experience relating to the design and diagnostics of electrical systems and components Experience in one or more related engineering areas: electrical, controls, computer, etc.
