liaison between IIHR researchers and external stakeholders (agency personnel, policymakers, community leaders, and the public). Specific Job Duties and Tasks Coordinate and/or monitor the status of projects. Provide program data, develop reports, oversee activities.
Advise management on budgetary needs, or discrepancies. May support the development of grants and contracts by participating on proposal development teams, drafting sections of proposals, and preparing or collecting support documents. Assist in the coordination/preparation of strategic plans in support of the program or service. Propose and implement communication strategies and develop content that best conveys programmatic
messages. Assist in the implementation of strategic initiatives in support of hydrologic programs. Recommend and implement new strategic initiatives to maximize program effectiveness.
Recommend, strategic initiatives within budgets to maximize program impact. Provide information to appropriate individuals/agencies regarding programs or services. Assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of specialized hydrologic and environmental science-related educational and outreach programs for a wide variety of audiences. Coordinate to ensure applicable compliance standards are met. Recommend changes in policies and procedures to meet hydrologic program standards. Assure

Evaluate program/services. Analyze data for quality improvement initiatives. Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching, and counseling for graduate and undergraduate students to assure outcomes are achieved. Education Requirement Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering, environmental science, or science related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Required Qualifications At least one year of work experience in an environmental discipline that encompasses watersheds, rivers, floods, etc.
At least one year of experience writing web content, press releases, and/or other environmentally related materials for governmental, private, and public consumption. Demonstrated experience utilizing tools and resources to track research or program activities. Strong communications skills; effective oral and written communication of scientific concepts (both technical and non-technical) to a wide variety of audiences. A valid driver's license is required and the ability to meet and maintain continued compliance with the standards of the University Driving Policy.

Desired Qualifications At least one year of experience developing and/or delivering environmental programs or public outreach events to K-12, agency staff, landowners, or other stakeholders. Experience working in collaboration with state and/or federal agencies and policymakers to address issues related to water quality and environmental issues related to water. Working experience or coursework in GIS.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state agriculture, soil, and water resource policies and standards.
