We see teaching in Summer Session as an opportunity for teachers to innovate and experiment; there is no strict curriculum to which teachers must adhere Project-based, hands on, authentic learningexperiencesareencouraged, andteachersshouldbepreparedtoleadstudents through an intensive and highly engaging

exploration of their chosen content. Duties Lead lectures and hands-on activities Assign homework and projects to help your students learn the material Administer quizzes and tests to measure their progress Provide extra help to your students when necessary Lead classroom discussions; prepare and administer exams Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board policies, administrative regulations, and IEP's.

Maintain orderly learning environment, build positive relationships with students prepare reading and mathematics instructional activities Instruct students on the elements of English such as: grammar, literature, writing, and effective communication.

Engage mixed age group of children in song, dance, literature, art, sensory play and fantasy play.

Differentiate math lessons that require students to solve problems involving geometry, measurement, patterns, addition, and subtraction. Create lesson plans and activities that foster and encourage growth to accommodate the ESL child's basic reading and writing abilities. Requirements At least a bachelor's degree in your field Valid teaching license Teaching experience Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work on an accelerated schedule Prepare a preliminary coursesyllabus reflective of the course description in the catalogue. Prepare classroom forsummer ensure appropriate number of desks, chairs, andbooks based on class rosters , review the results of any pre-summer backssmentsfor studentsplacinginto your classes, if available.

Must be able to hear, speak and see, and possess cognitive and physical abilities necessary to: exchange information; utilize a computer; read, prepare, and proofread written materials; and provide instruction. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must have dexterity of hands and fingers needed to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. May have occasional exposure to challenging/difficult parents, staff, and public and private representatives.

The position occasionally kneels, bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information, and lifts and carries objects that typically weigh less than 20 pounds.
