Duties to include: Plan, oversee, coordinate, direct, evaluate, and perform all commercial custodial duties and functions.
Coordination, direction, and development of department staff. Develops schedules and assigns work of direct reports. backss building cleanliness, including daily building tours. Observe processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and Departmental consistency. Monitor building for cleanliness and concerns. Continuous training for new and current staff, including development
and implementation of training sessions. High level of professional communication and confidentiality. Involvement in personnel functions including: interviewing, coaching, documentation and discipline.
Scheduling and approving time off requests, confirming electronic time records and entry of overtime/comp time. Evaluate employee performance including yearly reviews. Coaching, counseling, and assisting in disciplinary processes involving staff, providing accurate documentation records. Providing follow-up and resolution to problems. Managing inventory of departmental supplies. Overseeing and participating in furniture delivery, assembly, movement, and storage. Assisting in advancing
departmental strategic goals. Serving as first call and respondent to custodial emergencies during and after business hours.
Overseeing all custodial functions in relation to Bloodborne Pathogen response. Schedule: Generally, hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00PM. Working every 4th weekend with rotating days off. Will be expected to respond to emergencies including after hours and outside of normal shift. May work occasional overtime to cover absences and peak periods of operation. Desirable Qualifications: Commercial custodial experience Knowledge of facilities and industry standards in cleaning and maintenance of buildings. Knowledge of safety standards and safe work practices. Knowledge of institutional policies and procedures. Knowledge of administrative activities to include preparation of specific and period reports, fiscal records and service changes.
Knowledge of measures to improve production/service methods, equipment performance, scheduling and quality control. Knowledge of aseptic cleaning and maintenance techniques. Knowledge of computer operations and windows software programs. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, faculty, staff, vendors and the general public. Ability to lead, coach, motivate, direct, train and provide resources to staff members of the unit. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
