quality product at a high rate of speed from the facility mixing and distribution system to customers preferred packaging. Operate filling and packaging equipment and generally oversee and coordinate activities of other employees on the production line under the guidance and support of the Supervisor/Foreman.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Fill each container to the correct customer specifications, i. e. weight, bottle coding, labels, correct case coding Perform light maintenance of equipment such as lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, timing and sequencing as trained by a qualified maintenance technician. Line operators will be trained in the performance of autonomous maintenance
and, once trained, expected to perform those tasks and maintain respective equipment Train all other line support on complete line functions Sets up and assembles line for production run and shuts down equipment as needed per schedule.
Maintains documentation of production output and losses are properly tagged in Informance Communication and shift handoff to oncoming operator Maintains operational sanitation; performs sanitation task Perform quality control checks on proper placement of lids, closure of bags, wrapping, weights, codes, and case inspections. Ensures Ventura Foods’ process parameters are met Support safety culture, raises near misses, reports unsafe conditions or behaviors Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls Other duties as assigned Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED Knowledge and Skills: Possesses mechanical aptitude with good hand and eye coordination Ability to work effectively with and lead others; demonstrates good judgment Electrical knowledge Effective written and verbal communication skills Capable of being forklift licensed/certified Physical Demands: Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required. Work Environment: In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.
