All Roads Lead Here! Interns - Construction/Road - Statewide New Hampshire: Pike is hiring college students to work as interns within the Construction division for the summer. Through an organized and structured process the selected interns will be exposed to and trained on many aspects of our business operations. The summer will be broken into segments of 3-4 weeks
each where the intern will be paired with an experienced employee to learn about each of the following areas; paving installation, construction, and quality control.
Classification: Non-Exempt student hourly position • Paving installation – work with a paving crew to learn an overview of the process to install asphalt. During the time with a paving crew the intern will learn about the safety hazards and how to conduct risk backssments to ensure a safe working environment. The intern will also learn about the different types of paving projects, the process of project layout and preparation, the importance of customer service, the process of estimating a project, and the different roles
and responsibilities of the members of the paving crew. • Construction – work with a construction crew to learn how a project is set up and executed.
During this phase the intern will learn about the requirements necessary to ensure a safe operation, learn the process of coordinating all the subcontractors, employees, and equipment on a project, and will learn the different roles and responsibilities of the members of the crew. The intern will also spend some time with the Contract Administrator to understand the billing/payment process and with an Estimator to understand how the jobs are bid. During all phases the intern may assist with duties such as; manual labor, use of hand tools, directing and guiding traffic through construction sites, and possibly operating equipment.
Requirements: The selected candidate must be enrolled (planning to enroll) in a college degree program. Implement and supervise preventative maintenance programs through the automated system. Provide training to intermediate electrician and other maintenance staff as necessary. Coordinate projects with contractors when required. Order and maintain required parts for stock for critical equipment for assigned areas. Follow all safety procedures and alert supervisor to any unsafe conditions that may exist.
Work with other departments and area managers as required pertaining to asset upkeep. Require own hand tools and keeps them in a safe functional manner at all times. Maintain job logs as required, manual or automated. Function as a master level electrician: Maintain a clean and organize work area. Work independently when required. Apply for electrical permits as required by code, when and if possible. Bide by all electrical codes, SDS, OSHA and ant other. Become familiar with and abide by company core values. Abide by all safety rule and regulations from corporate, State and Federal.

Job Requirements: 4 years electrical trade school (Minimum Journeyman with 3 years’ experience). 4 – 7 years residential with 2-3 years industrial wiring and switch gear. Electrician license required. Clean valid driving license. Microsoft Office experience necessary. Read write and speak English Fluent. Ability to read blue prints The expected pay range is $21.63 - $44.23. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. All Roads Lead Here! Intern: Mechanic (Hookset, NH) Pike is looking to hire Technical College student to work as Mechanic Intern at our Benton Shop. As an intern within our Equipment Division, the selected candidate will learn about the repair and maintenance process and practices Pike follows to maintain the equipment fleet to operate safely and at the lowest cost possible.
Throughout the summer the intern will be exposed to a variety of our repair and maintenance practices; conducting tests and completing preventative maintenance on all brands and types of mobile equipment, learning about work orders, purchase orders, and maintaining inventory.
These positions will be based in our Williston, Vermont shop. Classification: Non-Exempt student hourly position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work in the shop to learn about and assist with work order process from creating to completion. Work with shop foreperson to lean and enter vehicle condition reports. Learn inventory processes for required parts/supplies. Trouble shoot and maintain all types of heavy
equipment, including but not limited to reclaimers, milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers, rollers, dump trucks, Redimix trucks, trailers and road tractors.
