Construction/Skilled Trade Jobs encompass a wide variety of roles within the building and maintenance of structures and infrastructure. Operator will be responsible for meeting all quality specifications on all finished goods - this includes, but is not limited to verifying all code dates and proper weights for each tote. The Agglomerate Line Operator must be knowledgeable in the activities of the personnel working on the line as he or she will assist in overseeing and training personnel.
Troubleshooting and mechanical skills are a plus. Position Duties and Responsibilities: Knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities for each position and equipment function on the agglomerate line. Check scales and tote weights at the beginning and during each shift; every two hours check the tote per pallet and record in appropriate
location. Identify and remove defective products or materials. Communicate with other shifts and/or departments regarding potential problems, product needing blended, line changes, etc.
Record all packaging information on packaging reports, and all changes or problems in the Shift Paperwork. Records must be legible, accurate, and complete, in English. Responsible for housekeeping and general appearance of Agglomerate and Packaging areas. Check at the start of each shift and during product changes that totes, date code stickers, etc. are correct for the product being packaged. Work cautiously around moving parts and equipment, adhere to LOTO safety, confined space policies and use good
safety practices at all times. Timely completion of the check-out list and reports.
Good knowledge of date codes, and appropriate locations for Pallet tickets Knowledge of product grade limits, and steps taken to correct out of spec product Familiarity with chemicals used in the cleaning and sanitizing process. Accurately mix ingredients and record ingredient usage. Knowledge of emergency procedures, including machine shut-down, employee evacuation procedures, and contacts for crisis or medical / first aide. Keep Agglomerate lead and Packaging Manager informed of progress and/or problems. Completes other duties as necessary. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of production and packaging equipment, policies and procedures to ensure the safety of product and personnel.
Ability to give instruction and teach others regarding packaging and equipment operation. Ability to complete paperwork and reports; basic math skills needed. Strong mechanical aptitude. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words. Good time management skills. Ability to monitor self and others to make improvements or take corrective action. Ability to delegate; must work well will all levels of staff.
Supervisory experience or background preferred. Safety and Quality conscious. Education: Education must be of such level as to allow for the accurate reading, writing, calculation and communication of the required materials and instructions to complete the job responsibilities. High school diploma/equivalent or higher education preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, bend, sit or move repetitively for up to 12 hours. Must be able to lift on a regular basis up to 50 lbs without assistance and up to 100 lbs with assistance. Ability to tolerate dust and chemicals.
Ability to work safely around moving parts and equipment. Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, climbing, crawling and fingering required. Must be able to see and hear sufficiently to operate equipment safely in an environment with high levels of noise and low-lit areas. Quick reaction time, good hand/eye coordination, ability to perceive and judge distances, and see details at close range. Willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Supervisor Duties: The Agglomerate Line Operator will supervise people in their area of responsibility. May be cross-trained on other lines or for additional responsibilities as well.
Supervisors must maintain professionalism toward all levels of staff at all times. Working Conditions: Normal plant / manufacturing / warehouse environment. Hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Must be available for all days and all hours. Position is very physical / hands on. Will be exposed to high levels of noise, heat, cold, dust, and wet and humid conditions, and all other environmental factors normally attributed to a packaging or warehouse environment. Job Description Summary The position will troubleshoot, repair, monitor, maintain, modify and changeover production line equipment as well as fabricate, test and adjust machine parts in accordance with blueprints, drawings, plans and schematics for various types of production equipment according to a set scheduled and in emergency and non-emergency situations.
The Maintenance Mechanic will support all departments. The position will report to the Maintenance Team Leader. Job Description Promptly at the start of the shift the employee will report to the Team Leader for instructions, schedules and daily assignments and prepare for the daily operations. Monitor assigned line and troubleshoot
production equipment, conveyors, lifts, palletizers, PLC's, switches, electric eyes, rails, grids, motors, etc.
as needed. Replace, repair, adjust and modify electrical, mechanical or hydraulic, pneumatic equipment as needed. Perform basic welding and machining tasks, as well as read blueprints, drawing and plans. Assist operators with line changeovers as needed. Order parts and supplies for repairs, compile run packets and maintain parts inventory as needed. Test parts, assemblies, equipment and systems for proper operation, make all necessary adjustments and record all modifications. Assist specialists with the repair, maintenance, rebuilding and installation of equipment and machinery in the facility.
Assist all Trades with repairs, replacements, adjustments, modifications to equipment, machinery, wiring, piping etc. as directed. At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties and complete and maintain work records on computerized Maintenance system Work closely with the Maintenance Team Leader to achieve all maintenance department goals. Must be able to work the scheduled assigned times and required overtime for the position. Housekeeping and other miscellaneous duties as required. Basic & Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma/GED.
3 -5 years experience and/or background in the mechanical/electrical field.
