Responsibilities: Working under the general supervision of the Director of the Dean's Office Digital Technology group (DGIT) Computing Technologies Research Lab (CTRL), the Sr.

Developer & Architect leads the software development efforts of key DGIT/CTRL projects. In this role, you will manage small teams of developers within an Agile development environment using cloud-based Dev Ops approaches in implementing new applications and supporting and maintaining existing mission-critical databases, reporting systems, and web and mobile applications. You will provide

general technical leadership in the areas of frontend technologies and backend cloud microservices, including: Javascript, SQL, no SQL, React Native, Bootstrap, AJAX and web services (REST), PHP, Python, HTML, XML.

In addition, you will work on, maintain, and manage multiple projects simultaneously over an extended period of time, manage more junior and senior level developers, and appropriately prioritize tasks. Qualifications B. S. in computer science or closely related field or equivalent experience; M. S. degree in computer science or mathematics is highly desired Detailed working knowledge of structured programming/scripting design and implementation and of a modern programming language

and development tools (e. g. TCL, Perl, Javascript, PI-SQL, Python, etc.

) Knowledge of relational database software (e. g. Oracle, Postgres, MS-SQL) Knowledge of Linux operating system, emacs editor, Git, and version control repositories Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop OS Expert knowledge of SQL and data modeling Demonstrated knowledge of AWS Virtual Private Clouds and available web services relevant to Dev Ops and software development practices Experience with the full software development process including gathering requirements, turning them into a design, implementing the design, and validating the implementation against the original requirements Experience with Cloud computing and AWS/Azure environments Strong understanding of network protocols and tools used in delivering REST web services, i.
