The Price Internet Technology (IT) department is moving from a department that provides solely desk-side support to one that has the in-house capacity to do application administration, develop cloud-based systems, integrate data from other USC systems into our systems, manage classroom technology needs, and implement technology solutions to facilitate academic research.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong manager, and one who gets excited about the prospect of leading a department through organizational change. We have recently announced a new vision for IT in the Price School and have reorganized the staff of the Price IT department. The CTO will be leading a team

of motivated individuals who are being given opportunities to develop their skills in application administration and development. The candidate should have the ability to modernize Price IT support processes, design solutions that address research and classroom needs, and the technical expertise to develop new cloud-based data systems and oversee data integration.

While having served in a senior management IT position is not a requirement for the position, we anticipate the successful candidate will managed a team of employees and have the technical expertise to develop cloud-based systems and do data integration. This position works closely with the Price Dean's Cabinet, faculty, and

staff, and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The position is a full-time, hybrid work arrangement.

The position supervises four full-time employees. Skills: Expertise building cloud-based applications and doing data integration; experience using Informatica or other AI powered cloud data management tools. Familiarity with current trends in hardware and software in educational settings. Ability to manage research-related software licenses, storage and processing of big data, and other faculty computing needs inside and outside of the classroom Knowledge of current ITS support processes. Strong management and leadership skills; ability to provide training and mentor staff to learn new functions and processes.

Excellent communication skills. Strong project management skills. Supervisory and budget experience. Salesforce certification a plus. Job duties include: Provide strategic direction to Price regarding current and future IT needs. Refocus the department so that it provides system development and data integration services. as well as desk-side support services. Coordinate the work of the IT department so that it is proactive and that there is equitable distribution of work among employees. Develop goals and processes for the IT department so that they are in alignment with the Price School's mission and aspirations.

Directly or indirectly supervise IT staff; create professional development plans for staff. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Bachelor's degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience5 years of progressively advanced positions in IT. Minimum Field of Expertise Directly relevant experience administering comparable information systems to be able or provide technical direction to systems development and support staff. Supervisory and budget experience. Preferred Education Master's degree Preferred Experience7 years of progressively advanced IT positions at a major research university.

Preferred Field of Expertise Management experience in internet technology. Knowledge of Salesforce and Informatica or similar cloud-based tools. Compensation The annual base salary range for this position is $152,650- $174,975.
