A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CNC PROGRAMMER In this programming role, you write programs for CNCs, observe designs, and troubleshoot as needed.
Our machinists count on your concise calculations and instructions to simplify tooling time and increase productivity for the company.
You evaluate all completed programs to validate their functions by running simulations, and then make improvements to set up times. With careful thought, you determine the appropriate sequence of operations. You also analyze job orders, prepare geometric layouts, and review 3D CAD design blueprints. Attentive to detail, you ensure that all safety regulations are being adhered to and blueprints are being followed precisely. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CNC PROGRAMMER High school diploma or equivalent Exceptional understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Experience with programming Ability to read blueprints Knowledge of electronics and machine tools A degree in CNC programming or a computer-related field would be a plus.
