Job Summary: 360 Rail Services is looking for individuals who are hardworking, independent, and self-driven to join us in the exciting field of building and maintaining America's railroads.
Experience in the rail industry is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individuals. The Project Engineer is responsible for leading the development of track and civil design plans, project specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of different rail clients, including Class I, shortline,
industrial, and transit railroad clients. Plan development will include the creation and preparation of drawings but also meetings and heavy coordination with clients, railroads, utility providers, and other civil disciplines to ensure that our department has the appropriate design guidelines and parameters.
Within the company, the Project Engineer will work closely with clients and collaborate within the company, including across the different departments. Responsibilities and Duties: Manage multiple projects of different scale at a time, including monitoring of project performance regarding scope, schedule and budget Mentor designers and drafters within the department Collaborate with
other project engineers as well as with other departments within the company Coordinate with railroad clients, project stakeholders, and field staff, Lead project activities from start of project through construction including design calculations, development of final design plans and specifications and provide post design services during construction.
Participates in business development and marketing activities, such as proposal support with the creation of technical scope and budget for engineering tasks. Qualifications and Skills: Required: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering 5+ years of design experience in rail or other transportation-related field Strong interest in railroad design Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook) Proficiency with CAD and design software (Micro Station, Power Rail Track, and/or Open Rail) Occasional travel Excellent communication skills, including technical writing Ability to perform multiple tasks within established schedules and work in a team environment Must be able to pass a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen Preferred: Licensed professional engineer (PE) or ability to become licensed as a PE.
