Management Code and provides information to the public regarding planning applications, zoning, land use regulations, and sign permits. The Planner I reviews building permits and performs site inspections and assists with the review of business license applications for conformance with zoning regulations.

This is a full-time, Non-Exempt (hourly) position with full benefits. TYPICAL DUTIES: Maintains a thorough understanding of the General Plan and Land Management Code. Reviews, analyzes, interprets, and applies the Land Management Code to land use applications, building permits, and business license reviews. Processes Administrative Permits, Administrative Conditional Use Permits, Conditional

Use Permits, Historic District Design Reviews, Conditional Use Permits, and Subdivisions/Plats, and other planning applications as required in conformance with the Land Management Code.

Timely prepares and presents staff reports and exhibits in Administrative Public Hearings and to the Planning Commission, Historic Preservation Board, Board of Adjustment, and City Council. Designs graphs, charts, maps, photographs, and other illustrative material for presentations. Timely completes pre-review and full review of building permits for conformance with the Land Management Code and land use approvals in coordination with the Building, Engineering, and other Departments as necessary. Completes

building permit inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans.

Reviews and evaluates proposed signs pursuant to the Sign Code outlined in Municipal Code of Park City Chapter 12, including size, materials, colors, compatibility, and attachments, and relevant Master Sign Plan. Reviews business license applications for compliance with zoning regulations. Conducts field studies and surveys to collect original research data for planning projects. Gathers and analyzes statistical data regarding planning as assigned. All other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as planning, architecture, and landscape architecture.

1 year of planning experience or course work and internship experience in a planning department or architectural/engineering firm. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1+ years planning experience in a municipal organization. Master’s degree in a related field such as planning, architecture, and landscape architecture. Demonstrated experience in design review and/or historic district design review/historic preservation. Computer literacy in GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu, or similar. American Planning Association (APA) member or affiliation.
