Job Overview The incumbent is responsible for the safety management of all work activities to ensure that all work is completed safely, the work areas are maintained safely for all personnel, and unsafe situations are identified and immediately corrected. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that work is performed in accordance with quality standards outlined in the statement of work. Must be a Certified Safety Professional. Works efficiently with the other members of the

field staff to ensure the successful completion of the project. Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Develops and implements safety procedures and policies in accordance to EM385.

Writes and updates the project location's Safety Plan. Performs safety audits. Performs safety orientation trainings for all personnel on site. Performs daily and weekly tailgate/toolbox briefings. Provides safety inputs to field management team to support daily, weekly monthly reporting requirements. Investigates accidents and ensures any needed corrective actions are completed. Coordinates with management, Human Resources, and staff for workers compensation claims. Develops job safety analyses (JSAs) to support restricted-duty work assignments, claims management, and development of safety and quality standard operating procedures.

Performs safety surveys (e. g. noise surveys, air monitoring, time and motion studies) to support personal protective equipment policies. Ensures environmental compliance: develops, updates, and implements the following plans: Facility Response Plan (FRP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan, Oil and Hazardous Substance Pollution Contingency (OHSPC) Plan, Hazardous Material Management Plan, Toxic Substance Management Plan (Ozone Depleting Substances, Radon, Asbestos, Poly Chlorinated Biphenyl's) Hazardous Waste Management Plan, Solid Waste Management Plan, Waste Analysis Plan, Air Emissions/Inventory Plan, Federal Agency Pollution Abatement Plan.

Manages PPE program by procurement of proper equipment and employee training. Develops and implements a system to manage hazardous materials and MSDS in accordance with OSHA Hazard Communication standards. Develops, implements, and maintains safety programs, including the following: Personnel Safety Education, Medical Surveillance, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space Entry, Hazardous Energy Control (Lockout/Tag out), Fall Protection, Ergonomics, Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing Conservation, Fire Prevention, Accident Investigation and Reporting, Hazard Communication, Electrical Safety, First Aid, Equipment Safety and General Procedures.

Coordinates and executes employee safety training as required. Monitors environmental compliance programs in accordance with contract requirements. Inspects work accomplished by staff and subcontractor personnel, to identify any flaws or defects. Inspects vendor subcontractors' work at project location to ensure safety and quality compliance.

Coordinates with subcontractor functional managers and supervisors to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of all tasks. Reports to the Project Manager on accomplishments, and results of surveys, inspections, and observations relating to safety and quality performance of staff and subcontractor personnel. Ensures scheduled and random safety and quality inspections are performed and documented within assigned time constraints. Knowledge of accident investigation and reporting principles and practices. Knowledge of government contracting terminology and requirements necessary to perform the contractual obligations, including environmental issues relating to personnel safety and contractual requirements.

Job Requirements Mandatory: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or in a related field with at least ten (10) years of full-time safety and health experience. Minimum of four (4) Years Safety Management experience working in a large-scale, multi-trade, industrial environment.

Required: At least one of the following industry-recognized safety certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Current EM385 Certification. Current 30 Hour Certification. Current 40 Hour Certification. Knowledge of facility maintenance and/or construction related standard operating procedures. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and Power Point. Ability to obtain and maintain a U. S. Government security clearance. Possess a valid driver's license with suitable driving record.
