Announcement Utah Valley University is seeking a part-time Clerk!
Working under the direction of the Parking Manager, processes requests for parking authorization, receives payments for parking violations and permit purchases. Advises and informs students, parents, employees, and the community regarding parking information.
Enters data into the parking operating system. Researches problems with violations and performs payment research and verification of parking eligibility. Summary of Responsibilities Processes and verifies eligibility for parking authorizations and permits. Receives payments and processes initial appeals or disputes for parking violations. Processes permit payments.
Advises and informs the university community and visitors regarding parking regulations, event locations, routes, lot closures, availability, and best-practices for parking on campus.
Enters data in the parking operating system and provides support for other specific office functions, including research and communication to field officers. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and six months related experience specific to the summary of duties. Preferred Qualifications: An associate's degree plus one to three years of experience is preferred. The ability to communicate over public two-way radio is also preferred. Knowledge, Skill,
and Abilities Knowledge: Knowledge of cashiering concepts and proper money-handling procedures.
Knowledge of customer service techniques in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of how to work with, at times, hostile customers. Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and basic data entry procedures. Skills: Skills in office methods and techniques. Skills in using computer applications and performing data entry. Skills in the use of office machines such as fax, copiers, and cash registers. Skills in processing credit card and cash payments. Skills in public relations and communicating effectively with customers. Abilities: Ability to perform tasks with minimum supervision.
Ability to accurately reconcile a cash drawer and accurately account for all transactions. Ability to advise students and other community members in a clear and professional manner. Ability to resolve conflicts and work with sometimes aggressive customers in a professional, calm manner. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. You will also receive an aggressive, industry-leading compensation package, allowing you to earn between $85,000 to $95,000 per year. Who is the ideal candidate for this role?
