will vary between 6am - 4:30pm (Monday through Friday) based on operational needs. RESPONSIBILITIES : Pick and assemble food orders for pickup and delivery by local partner agencies. Load orders onto trucks for delivery to agencies and complete necessary paperwork associated with the delivery of orders.
Prepare for upcoming volunteer shifts by arranging projects and cleaning work spaces. Supervise volunteers during projects by ensuring good work flow, answering questions, and providing general assistance. Unload donated and purchased products and ensure the completion of proper paperwork. Tag and stock dry/perishable/frozen food onto shelves. Provide receipts to food drive donors in distribution.
Assist with the restock of frozen food for any cancelled orders. Ensure that first-expired-first-expired methodology is used for each order transaction.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution areas. Perform general warehouse operations as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED Required. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Foodbank). Experience: Minimum of three years of warehouse experience including use of forklift (propane and electric), electric pallet jacks/riders (4ft and 8ft) is required. Previous experience using a cherry picker is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations.
Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures.
Skills/Competencies: Must have good customer skills and mathematical skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment. JOB CONDITIONS : Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to: perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack. ). Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Must work in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods of time.
