discrepancies and obvious damages; routing material to prescribed storage locations by proper methods to protect material and employee safety; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examine stored materials and reporting deterioration and damages; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
May operate various equipment to stage, locate or process material for shipment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Accurately locate and identify stock for storage and retrieval. 2. Safely operate related machinery and equipment. 3. Properly identify and process paperwork necessary for material handling. 4. Correctly load and unload trucks and verify load with delivery
tickets. 5. Properly tag, band, and package material for shipment. 6. Maintain a clean and safe work area. 7. Always be helpful and courteous to all customers and employees.
8. Perform other duties as related or assigned for the benefit of the Company. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED. Previous shipping and receiving experience helpful. Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work as a team member without close supervision to meet Company and personal goals. Capable of reading a tape measure, calipers, and orders. Able to recognize different colors. Good reading, writing and math skills as measured by a pre-employment test. Ability to meet physical demands of position which are required 95% of the work day (i.
e. lifting up to 50 lbs independently, pushing, pulling, standing, climbing).
