POSITION DESCRIPTION The Food for Seniors' Home Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering commodity food/ boxes to participants' homes in a safe, timely, and professional manner. The driver is responsible for assisting with receiving, storing, packing,
and delivering food as needed. The position requires frequent lifting and moving; one must be able to lift 50 lbs. The Home Delivery Driver must work with a diverse group of people.
Essential Functions Loads and unloads items from the vehicle or truck. Provides excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from participants. Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules. Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record. Make sure the delivery report and other documents or submitted in a timely manner. Keeps trucks/vehicles clean on a daily basis and reports any repairs/maintenance to the supervisor. Serves each participant in a
respectful and caring manner. Assists with packing boxes when needed.
Assists with warehouse duties as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions Various Settings; may be exposed to heat and cold; may travel long distances and may have to relate to difficult and diverse people. Physical Requirements Physically demanding position requires frequent lifting and moving - must be able to consistently lift heavy boxes up to 50 lbs. May be exposed to all kinds of weather. May work with difficult and diverse people. Must have a medical exam and pass initial and random drug/alcohol screening. Minimum Qualifications Ability to read and write legibly and strong math skills.
A high school graduate or equivalent is preferred. Valid Louisiana license required /(CDL). Clean driving record. Experience is preferred. Strong time management and customer service skills. The ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods and is detail orientated. Schedule: Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm; occasional Saturdays Hourly position; 30-minute lunch Reports To: Warehouse or Distribution Manager
