Manager, Carrier and Dispatch Operations, will oversee and manage daily dispatcher operations, carrier relations and rate negotiations, carrier contract management, monthly cost estimates, and associate supervision. Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Oversee the daily dispatch of all shipments within PTI to include backhaul shipments on the fleet and carrier reducing cost per load.
Supervise and oversee 30+ associates and supervisors Review and approval carrier billing exceptions Manage carrier relations to include recruiting new carriers, rate negotiations, contract management, and conducting quarterly and weekly meetings with top carriers Review and maximize weekly fleet
volumes; Report out weekly volumes and review weekly with fleet management and senior leadership. Establish and maintain monthly cost estimates, reports, and carriers KPI’s and scorecards.
Proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders on related transportation matters. Support strategic direction of the department and company. Other duties as assigned. Experience Requirements Prior supervisor/management experience Understanding of transportation logistics Experience Preferred 5-10 years of transportation, distribution or logistics experience; a Bachelors Degree in a related field; strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills Environmental Factors
and Physical Requirements Flexible work schedules (both days and hours) to handle weather, holidays or other service disruptions 24 hours, 7 days a week on-call basis for matters involving customer service or safety of drivers Ability to travel to and from facility locations Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
