These courses are scheduled to be taught on campus. Faculty members are expected to participate in curriculum development and review and service college-wide committees. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy and are willing to work in a collegial setting.
This position will last throughout the spring 2024 semester (January 22 May 13), with an option to teach a summer course. The chosen candidate will also be considered for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Biology with an anticipated fall 2024 start date. Qualifications: Master s degree required Ph. D. preferred At least 3 years of teaching or equivalent experience
Duties and Responsibilities: Teach 15 contact hours of General Biology, Microbiology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and/or Nutrition courses, as well as potential additional courses related to the applicant s area of professional expertise.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and possess the ability to effectively interact with a diverse student and staff population. Hold appropriate office hours. Take part as needed in typical activities of a full-time faculty member, including the following: advising/mentoring students, developing curriculum, recruiting students and attending department and faculty meetings.
