The Raven (Rapid Virtualization for the Enterprise) Virtualization team is currently seeking a technical lead and subject matter expert for the virtual machine development team. This team is responsible for creating virtual machines used across the product
life cycle on several enterprise Boeing products and programs. Tasking includes developing emulations of key avionics embedded systems for use on multiple platforms for Boeing commercial and defense products.
Development activities will include creating new and integrating existing chip level components to create virtual machine deliverables that will be used in software and system development activities as part of our High Fidelity Digital Twin portfolio. Knowledge of virtualization technologies, QEMU, avionics, and the ability to integrate test environments, virtual machines, and models and simulations will be required for the candidate to be successful in this position. This technical
leader will be required to work across all programs as needed. This includes mentoring and working with junior engineers using the advice, assist, and check model, but also individually completing difficult technical work assignments when required.
Participation with other technical leaders and management on strategy, work planning, and proposal efforts is also required. The ideal candidate enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-program environment. This position will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.
The candidate should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies. Specific Responsibilities to be Performed: Subject Matter Expert for Raven Virtualization Lead development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional solution Address major technical issues either directly through discrete work or by assisting others on the team in completing that work Provide technical guidance to engineers as needed, including pair programming, breaking down and assigning work to others to maximize skills development, coaching, and mentoring Work with management, program, and team leads to identify highest priority needs to be addressed Ensure Raven Virtualization processes are followed to allow for reusability and efficiency gains while allowing for program specific needs to be met Provide feedback to leadership on technical activities Develop the vision/roadmap for Raven Virtualization with other technical leaders Plan the work for the various virtualization architectures/programs/teams along side the leadership team Work on proposal activities with the leadership team This position is hybrid.
This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team s discretion and could potentially change in the future. This position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Security Clearance for which the U. S. Government requires U. S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U. S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
