The staff pharmacist supervises shop technicians and all other shop staff in preparing and dispensing medicals in accordance with state and federal laws and company policies. Responsibilities Review prescriptions issued by physician or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy, appropriateness, and ingredients needed Use shop computer system to enter patient orders, maintain drug refills,

etc. Dispense prescribed medications, drugs, and other medicals for patient care. May include infrequent compounding Direct shop workers engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling and shipping medicals Answer questions and provide information to shop customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of medicals.

In the absence of the shop Manager, the Pharmacist shall address customer complaints and works quickly to resolve the problem to customer satisfaction Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, cost-containment, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs and hazardous waste Comply with HIPAA regulations Comply with company Corporate

Compliance Program Other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities: The staff pharmacist supervises shop technicians and all other shop staff in preparing and dispensing medicals in accordance with state and federal laws and company policies.

At times, when the shop Manager is unavailable, other supervisory duties temporarily fall to the senior staff pharmacist on duty, then to successive pharmacists as predetermined by the shop Manager. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to work in a rotating shift as to learn every facet of the shop operation. Will be expected to work alongside each member of the staff when necessary. Positive professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team.

Effective communication, written and grammar skills, and detail oriented. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Working knowledge of automated dispensing machines, shop software systems and computer interfaces. This position must pass a post-offer background check and drug screen. Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited college of shop with a BS/Pharm D in shop Current Pharmacist license issued by the state Board of shop CE Units must also be maintained according to the Board of shop guidelines Valid and Current Driver's License Positive driving record that will enable the employee to be insurable under the agency vehicle insurance policy, if applicable.
