Desk support. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Obtain an upper air observing certification within 30 days of employment Long-term employment contingent on meeting this requirement Providing operational field support in the form of a 7-day per week Help Desk and guiding field staff through simple and complex situations related to a radiosonde observing systems Become a subject matter expert for Help Desk-style support of the radiosonde systems Work schedule will include shift work on a scheduled basis Morning Shift - 6am - 2pm EDT (5am - 1pm EST) Evening Shift - 2pm - 10pm EDT (1pm - 9pm EST) or, Normal Shift ~ 8am - 4:30pm.

and have limited flexibility) Work schedule will include some weekends and holidays (at least two weekends per month) Help Desk will comprise 60% or greater of time, monthly Assist in developing Help Desk documentation and procedures for addressing common situations; Develop documentation related to sensor and system operation, maintenance, and training Develop and/or review documentation related to ongoing sensor/system testing at SFSC Assist in methods for monitoring sites data quality and overall productivity of operations Assist with the deployment and installation of sensors/systems to off-site locations (may require travel) Train field personnel on how to operate radiosonde observing systems

Real-time on-site weather observations in support of meteorological sensor testing during non-business hours/weekends/holidays Provide status briefings to government clients on the progress of field support, testing, or deployment Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor degree in Meteorology or similar scientific discipline 1-3 years being able to multi-task and have outstanding verbal and written communication (MS Office) Proficient in creating and formatting documents 1-3 years of experience in the Setup, configuration, and design of scientific tests 0-2 years utilizing data analysis tools such as MS Excel 0-2 years of experience with radiosondes or other in-situ measuring systems and upper air observations Ability to work with an inter-disciplinary and diverse team of scientists and technicians A U.

S. Driver's License Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs Desired Skills Understanding of meteorological sensors and NWS Observing Programs Background with Lab View, MATLAB, or Python; Knowledgeable of basic Linux commands Knowledgeable of satellite sounding products Knowledgeable of statistical analysis techniques Technical Instrumentation Background Axiom offers competitive compensation packages including comprehensive medical/dental/life insurance and matching 401(k) contribution.
