Lead efforts to minimize risk during chemical, biological, and radiological operations to prevent incidents or accidents at DOD laboratories and facilities. backss and report on the adequacy of acquisition, integrated logistics support, and other external support programs for toxic chemical materials and programs associated with Department of Defense missions. Review organizational chemical, biological,

and radiological accident/incident emergency response plans and programs and other associated emergency response operations. Evaluate an organization's ability to properly respond to technical hazards during emergency response exercises and drills.

Maintain awareness and understanding of emerging hazardous compounds, infectious diseases, and associated doctrine, technology, and training. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Combination of Education and Experience: Course work equivalent to a major in the physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as an inspector or supervisor of toxic chemical agent operations, safety, research and development, security, or emergency response; Conducting inspections, investigations, or inquiries related to chemical, biological or radiological programs; and/or Inspecting oversight of processes involved in the accountability, maintenance, decontamination, transportation or disposal of hazardous, infectious, or radioactive materials.
