MD area. The effort provides rapid response to on-site intelligence requirements for Do D operational and/or deployed forces. This position is contingent upon contract award. Job Summary The Data Scientist conducts data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis, and uses scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products, enabling more informed analytic decisions.
The Data Scientist proactively retrieves information from various sources, analyzes it for better understanding about the data set, and builds AI tools that automate certain processes. Duties typically include:
creating various ML-based tools or processes, such as recommendation engines or automated lead scoring systems; performing statistical analysis, applying data mining techniques, and building high quality prediction systems.
The Data Scientist should be skilled in data visualization and use of graphical applications, including Microsoft Office (Power BI) and Tableau; major data science languages, such as R and Python; managing and merging of disparate data sources, preferably through R, Python, or SQL; statistical analysis; and data mining algorithms. Should have prior experience with large data Multi-INT analytics, ML, and automated predictive analytics. Perform system backssments and
data analytics; provide modeling/visualization, machine learning, statistic, data engineering, pattern recognition/learning support; facilitate technical data information extraction/retrieval and knowledge discovery; use data science approaches to identify anomalies, patterns, signatures, and relationships in mission backssments.
Additionally, provide product review, feedback, and OJT. Develop and implement research and process improvements in collaboration with Government leadership. Qualifications Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance required. Master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university. A Bachelor’s degree and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, may be substituted for the Master’s degree.
At least 12 years of relevant data science experience, with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years. Experience with data visualization and use of graphical applications, including: Microsoft Office (Power BI) and Tableau, Major data science languages, such as R and Python Experience managing and merging of disparate data sources, preferably through R, Python, or SQL. Experience with statistical analysis and data mining algorithms. Prior experience with large data Multi-INT analytics, ML, and automated predictive analytics.
Pay Range: Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
