This Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and independent Senior Scientist with experience in radiomedical development to join our radioconjugate (RC) portfolio team within the Early Oncology Discovery group in Gaithersburg, MD USA. Senior Scientist in our group, you will be the tumor biology lead for emerging RC portfolio projects, working both with our internal project teams and with external partners to develop novel targeted alpha therapies.

As a core project lead, you will leverage your theoretical and practical expertise to deliver pre-clinical datasets, synthesize cross-functional learnings, establish program priorities, and advance the project through all stages of pre-clinical development. You will represent the project team in front of governance committees and will present program updates at other internal forums. In addition to your individual project leadership responsibilities, you will also provide

intellectual contributions and cross-functional support to RC teams across the portfolio.

Main Duties and Responsibilities You will be expected to serve as the tumor biology lead for one or more radioconjugate programs, working collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure the timely generation and dissemination of critical program data to enable project milestone decisions. As a highly organized, self-motivated individual with a strong background in cancer research and radiobiology, you will stay up to date with relevant technical, intellectual, and scientific expertise in tumor biology and cancer modelling, particularly as it relates to targeted radioconjugates, and have a genuine passion for this field of research.

Essential Requirements Ph D Degree with 0-3 years of experience, Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years and project leadership experience in a relevant field related to tumor and radiation biology. Expertise in targeted radiomedical therapies, with broad knowledge of the field, is required for consideration of the candidate. Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional project teams. Solid understanding of radiation biology, cell biology, and/or biochemistry in the context of cancer, with a robust desire for continued learning.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills evidenced by a history of successful project delivery in team-oriented, collaborative environments. A consistent track record of productivity, as demonstrated by scientific publications in high quality peer-reviewed journals. Ensures own work, and work of peers, is compliant with Good Laboratory Practice, Safety, Health, and Environment standards and all other relevant internal Astra Zeneca standards and external regulations. Desirable Requirements Prior experience in the biomedical industry and familiarity handling data delivery through contract research organizations preferable but not required.

Direct, hands-on experience in residualization & saturation binding assays, PET-CT imaging, biodistribution studies, non-clinical dosimetry, and other pre-clinical radioimmunoconjugate methods is highly desirable. Experience with targeted alpha emitter therapeutics would be considered favorably.
