Job Description: Tech Law is seeking an experienced environmental scientist in our Las Vegas, NV, office to provide technical and project management leadership supporting the EPA's Emergency Response Team (ERT ) Response Engineering and Analytical Contract (REAC) team-a critical link in our nation's environmental safety support system.

REAC teams bring next-level advanced support and respond to national and international incidents involving releases of oil and hazardous materials and at uncontrolled

hazardous waste sites. The REAC team has been called upon to conduct environmental analyses in the aftermath of numerous incidents, such as the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001, the Hart Senate Office Building and U.

S. Postal Service facilities anthrax threats, and the Space Shuttle Columbia accident. This is a Team Leader position. The Senior Emergency Response Air Scientist is expected to have broad knowledge in the calibration, maintenance, deployment, use, and data collection for handheld, portable and transportable air sampling and monitoring devices. This person will develop and implement sampling/monitoring and data collection plans

and be proficient in the implementation of multi-media, multi-matrix sampling techniques and associated analytical methods.

Tech Law offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, a generous benefits package, training (40-hour OSHA, 8-hour OSHA Refresher), and medical monitoring. Salary Range: $85,000 to $120,000 DOE Required Qualifications: A B. S. Degree and 10 years of recent and relevant experience with air sampling/monitoring protocols. Relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for education.

Experience in the calibration, maintenance, deployment, use, and data collection for handheld, portable and transportable air sampling and monitoring devices; knowledge in the development and implementation of sampling/monitoring and data collection plans and proficiency in and knowledge of the implementation of multi-media, multi-matrix sampling techniques and associated analytical methods Experience managing junior and mid-level air scientists by providing them guidance and direction Ability to respond to releases of hazardous materials and provide site backssment services Capable of planning and leading a site-wide environmental investigation Experience preparing technical reports based on field activities and findings Ability to perform desktop reviews of historical site data Preferred Qualifications: Previous use of any of the following air monitoring instruments: Area RAE, Area RAE Pro, Multi RAE Pro, SPM Flex, TSI Dust Trak, FID/PID, Mercury Analyzers, data telemetry systems, or any other relevant air monitoring/sampling equipment Knowledge and/or experience with Vapor Intrusion and sampling with summa canisters and Tedlar bags Knowledge and/or experience preparing Site-Specific Quality Assurance Project Plans and Technical Reports Field instrumentation experience, including the use of various air monitoring and multi-media sampling instruments.

Abilities should include calibration and implementation of field instruments and interpretation of results Knowledge and/or experience in computer applications and an ability to learn new computer programs quickly and efficiently Familiarity with the Incident Command System (ICS), specifically the ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 training courses. Completion of ICS courses a plus. 40-Hour HAZWOPER; Physical Requirements: The ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
