AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic assemblies and test equipment by aligning, testing, and troubleshooting down to the component level all types of digital, analog, and RF circuitry.
Set up and operate all types of standard and special purpose laboratory equipment, including environmental stress screening, and computer-controlled equipment. Implement routine preventative maintenance tasks on test equipment. Measures parts for conformity with specifications. Alert supervisors to test failure trends. At times, may disassemble and reassemble production assemblies and equipment and inspect components for
defects. Maintain legible records of daily tasks and test data, and log data into a computer database. Derive formulas and generate innovative techniques to aid in the troubleshooting process of production failures and field returns.
Assist engineers in formulating test procedures and evaluating prototype circuitry and production failure trends. Cross train and assist other technicians on projects. Provide training and support to other technicians, assemblers and other personnel as needed. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma, GED or Equivalency required; two year degree in a technical discipline preferred; plus 4 years direct experience; or an equivalent combination
of education and experience. Prior bench technician experience with an emphasis on component level troubleshooting preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to support standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Must also be able to support overtime on week days or weekends as required to support business needs. Must have good electro-mechanical aptitude, be able to stand while performing duties of this job, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms, occasionally must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly exposed to the risk of electrical shock, able to work under time constraints, and work with some chemical and bonding agents.

Responsibilities: · Serve a dual role: Quality Engineer and Quality Assurance · GMIP QE Affordability Process; Performs QE tier 2/3 evaluation/ review and analyses for determination
of either GMIP retention, revise to In-Line backssment (ILA) and/ or deletion(s). · Potential nonconformance MRB certification and approvals. · Performs Government Mandatory Inspection Points (GMIPs), In-Line backssments, surveillance inspections, and tracks associated nonconformances on Artemis flight hardware and GSE processing.
· Performs insight/oversight of contractor operations. This effort will be focused on both flight hardware and Ground Support Equipment (GSE). · Work with several systems such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and others. · Performs acceptance of GSE/hardware, receiving inspections, and QE review of Acceptance Data Packs (not including signing
of DD250 documents). · Performs/supports backssments & audits of contractor's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure products & services are produced per design documentation and engineering requirements.
· Supports development of government insight/oversight plan for individual contracts. · Performs WAD reviews to identify GMIPs and works contract surveillance for implementation/ completion of GMIPs. · Works with contractor Quality counterparts, engineering Subject Matter Experts, and other technical disciplines to resolve technical issues, address nonconformances, and other quality concerns. · Manages/tracks procurement status, Requests For Information, nonconformances, waivers, elevated risks, and any associated reports.
· Reviews contractor documentation for compliance to higher level Program level and contractual requirements. · Reviews government and contractor data and performs data analysis. · Identifies quality/safety issues, concerns, and potential risks that require mitigation. · Represents NASA Quality while interfacing with key NASA and contractor procurement stakeholders. · Performs inspections, surveillance, and requirement compliance while overseeing fabrication, assembly, and test and checkout of GSE and aerospace flight hardware.
· Periodically tasked with overseeing efforts on ad-hoc assignments. Required Experience/Education: · Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technical field. · Experience: 6 yrs. of engineering, science, or technical experience. · Must have Quality Engineering experience. · KSC flight hardware, aerospace processing experience, and Procurement Quality experience is highly desirable. · Strong quality background with work experience in processing flight hardware and Ground Support Equipment that may include larger flight/GSE structures, system-level components, or smaller assemblies.
· Significant " floor-level" KSC experience with a variety of systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc. ). Security Clearance Requirement: · Must be able to qualify for an unescorted badge (US Citizen required) and be able to pass a background investigation & drug test. Preferred Experience: · Ability to review quality/engineering requirements and specifications, contracts, statements of work, and higher level documents and translates those requirements into an effective insight/oversight quality plan and assure subsequent implementation. · QMS auditing experience.
· Experience monitoring/evaluating contractor processing activities. · Ability to clearly and concisely present plans, technical issues, and project status. · Ability to read & interpret drawings. · Proficiency with personal computers, specifically with using Microsoft Word and Excel. · Experience with (or ability to learn) virtual meeting products (MS teams, Zoom, etc. ) is highly desired. · Good team building/ cross functional teams and strong social skills.
