The Senior Quality Technician conducts quality assurance audits of production facilities assuring Henny Penny quality standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consults with quality engineers and other departments to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems.
Functions as an information source to team and various company departments when special and critical quality issues occur. Function in conjunction with other quality members on special department projects or teams. What You'll Be Doing Conducts production process audits, creates reports, follow up on corrective action requests for nonconformances Evaluates product conformance
using various and appropriate measurement equipment Resolves major quality problems at production facilities, warehouses, and market areas as required Performs preliminary investigations when quality incidents occur to enable root cause problem solving Evaluates and takes corrective action when necessary with regard to product date coding, PIN tracking, and control panel assignment at all levels of product movement Educates and instructs plant personnel in recommended quality control testing and equipment sanitation practices.
Confirms these procedures are being maintained Consults with plant management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency
and product yields Maintains calibration and maintenance of production gages Functions as an information source for team and other departments when critical quality issues arise Builds relationships with production managers and team members to be viewed as a valuable resource to help facilitate and drive corrective actions Assists/leads in mentoring and training for the development of team members Communicate quality concepts internally and externally via presentation and report generation; including using charts and pattern recognition tools.
What You'll Need For This Position 5+ years of experience as a quality technician at a metal working or electronics manufacturing facility or an associate degree in a science or math related field with 3-5 years of experience as a quality technician at a metal working or electronics manufacturing facility.
Experience in Welding, Wire Form and Automation a plus. Ability to read blueprints. 3+ years of metrology experience; experience with Faro Arm, CMM, and/or weld inspection a major plus. Demonstrated ability to communicate quality concepts and information and to get buy-in from external partners to enact improvements. Functional use of Microsoft Office Excel and Power Point; Mini-Tab proficiency a plus.
Someone who is self-motivated, a team player, and has a desire to grow, based on his/her performance. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail. Ability to quickly identify quality issues, problem solve, and make decisions in a timely manner. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
